Born in Boston, singer Dave Doyle knew he had a passion for singing at an early age.
Dave started singing commercial jingles around the house and quickly realized he needed more.
Dave perfected his vocal prowess by singing along to his personal copy of the vinyl version of the
Essential Barry Manilow album. While in college Dave received some vocal coaching and threw out his
Barry Manilow records. Dave was ready to start his singing career, but wasn’t sure how to go about it.
After spending months singing for tips in the Downtown Crossing T station, Dave realized that he would
never be discovered there. The obvious transition for Dave was to venture into the world of karaoke.
After touring the east coast's finest Karaoke bars Dave felt he was in a rut. He had become a Karaoke regular.
He disappeared from the Karaoke circuit and abandoned singing for many years. At age 28 Dave realized that
there was something missing in his life, singing. He started back into the Karaoke world and soon began his
career as a Karaoke host. Dave was discovered by Breaking Point’s drummer Tom Donovan when Tom witnessed Dave knock
out a killer rendition of the Pina Colada song during one of his Karaoke nights. The following week Dave
auditioned for the spot of lead singer for Breaking Point and he was hired. The news of his hiring came as a
big relief to Dave as he thought he was going to have to resort to a career as a singing pharmacist.
