Robbie began playing guitar when he was 15 years old. Within two years he had started his first band,
Brew, with two local friends. After Brew disbanded Robbie played for an array of cover bands including
Main Street Band and Blind Drive. Through a mutual friend Robbie was introduced to Mark Ferrara and an
immediate friendship and musical partnership was formed. The two began writing songs together and soon
after recruiting a drummer and bass player the newly formed Ferrara hit the road performing in many of the
top Boston and East Coast venues enjoying Boston radio airplay for their original songs such as
“Dreams Can Be Real”, “Just How I Feel”, “Better to be Blind”, and “Under 21” which was also used
as the theme song for a local Music Video show. After 80 plus shows Ferrara disbanded and Robbie
went back to playing covers with bands such as Ball and Chain and Little Thunder. Robbie switched
to playing bass guitar around 1998 and soon after joined Kick the Cat which featured drummer Tom Donovan.
After playing 60 to 70 shows Kick the Cat broke up and Tom and Robbie decided to forge ahead and start a new band.
The end result was Breaking Point.
